Proctor Hospital has announced the construction of a new $2.1 million treatment center for the Illinois Institute for Addiction Recovery (IIAR) to be located adjacent to the hospital's Counseling and Recovery Center. The new 12,000 square foot, free-standing building is needed to meet increasing demands for quality addiction treatment services for adults and adolescents. The opening is scheduled for the fall of 1998.

Established in 1979, the IIAR at Proctor Hospital quickly gained a reputation in chemical dependency treatment and is now one of the nation's leading multi-addiction treatment providers. In the past five years, the IIAR at Proctor Hospital has also become the recognized national leader in gambling, spending and Internet addiction treatment. Counselors and staff at the IIAR at Proctor Hospital also treat patients with food addiction and sexual addiction.
The new facility will accomodate both inpatients and outpatients from across the country in an easily accessible, highly confidential setting surrounded by the wooded, park-like campus of Proctor Hospital. "The need for professional addiction recovery treatment continues to grow," said Proctor President and CEO, Norman H. LaConte. "This new facility will allow the IIAR to better meet the needs of the community and the region."
