Kirk Moberg, MD, PhD Joins the

Illinois Institute for Addiction Recovery

 

Proctor Health Care is pleased to announce the association of Kirk Moberg, MD, PhD  as Medical Director for the Illinois Institute for Addiction Recovery. He was most recently the Executive Vice-President and Chief Medical Officer for Carle Hospital and Physician Group in Urbana-Champaign. Dr. Moberg has practiced addiction medicine for 20 years and concurrently served as medical director of two addiction recovery centers from 2000 to 2010 in Urbana-Champaign.

"Dr. Moberg adds to IIAR's history of successfully treating the diseases of addiction with the incorporation of the latest evidenced-based research shown to reduce relapse and increase the probability of and length of recovery." Said Andrew Bland, Vice President and Chief Medical Officer for Proctor Hospital.

Board certified by the American Board of Addiction Medicine and the American Board of Internal Medicine, he received his MS in Health Policy and Administration, and a PhD in Biology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Urbana-Champaign.

The Illinois Institute for Addiction Recovery at Proctor Hospital is pleased to announce its new facility at The Abbey, in the Quad Cities in Bettendorf, IA.

The new facility will be known as the Illinois Institute for Addiction Recovery at The Abbey and provide comprehensive adult residential treatment for chemical, gambling, Internet, video gaming, food,spending/shopping and chronic pain with addiction.

The Abbey will also offer residential, intensive addiction day treatment, aftercare and individual and family treatment.
Joseph Lemon, Jr., Founder of The Abbey states: “The Abbey is thrilled to enter its partnership with the venerable Illinois Institute for Addiction Recovery at Proctor Hospital. The Illinois Institute for Addiction Recovery (IIAR) was established in1979 at Proctor Hospital in Peoria, Illinois. Since that time, the Institute has developed a wide variety of services and programs to meet the growing need for hospital-based addiction recovery treatment in the region.
